B Grade’s match against Tallarook was washed out.

C Grade travelled to Avenel, and after winning the toss, Grassy elected to field first. With Mike Fairweather and Matt Lane both bowling well early, as well as some tidy catching from Den Reid (3 catches), Pyalong had the home side struggling at 5/51, however they managed to string together some partnerships to push their total to 187 all out. Fairweather (4/23) and Lane (3/26) the pick of the bowlers.

The run chase started with a minor hiccup, losing openers Reid and Sean Delaney early. Matt Lane and Brent Murton put on a 57 run stand before Mermaid fell for 29, Lane continued to bat well, eventually getting out for a well made 39. Cameos from Jayson Meade (30), Jase Ryan (15), Mitch Wittig (14) and Matt Delaney (18no) steered the ship home for a two wicket win.

The U16s hosted Alexandra and batted first. Declan Clarke batted his team into a winning position after retiring on 50, before returning later to finish 55 not out. Pyalong was dismissed for 89.

With the ball, Jacko Ruddick took 2/14 from 7 and Liam Clarke 2/8 did most of the damage, as all the kids bowled and fielded well, with Alexandra needing just 4 runs from the last over. Matt Pratt kept his over to 3 runs, as the match ended in a tie.
